A Relaxed Family Home

Bespoke Interior Design, West London

A new interior for an Edwardian family home, combining original features with a relaxed, contemporary feel.

The property is in Ealing in West London. These generously-proportioned houses are set in a glorious, leafy part of town and we wanted to reflect this in the colour palette.

As a family home, comfort and durability were two other important considerations in the overall approach.

Looking out of the window you can see the slate of roof tops, the ever-changing trees and sometimes the copper tones of autumn … this is the feeling we wanted to convey; the scrunch of beech leaves, the shine of conker-brown, the glow you feel when coming in from a bracing walk; warm, relaxed and imbued with light.

In the family room this led us to big, kick-back-and-relax sofas in slate grey, hints of rich wood, glowing ambient light and burnished gold accents, completed with twig-inspired fabric on the cushions and a beautiful grandfather clock that has been in the family for longer than anyone would care to say…

A pleasure to work with

“Throughout the project she was a pleasure to work with … I found her to be unpretentious and practical as well as having a great eye for design.”
