Working with architects, surveyors and builders
Cathy Phillips Interior Design works with homeowners, developers and investors alike to produce stunning interiors on budget and on time. As an experienced, well-established London interior design company, based in Battersea, we transform all kinds of homes, from period townhouses and penthouses to compact newbuild studios.
Our services are flexible, which means we can just provide an interior design consultation; or we can be hired to manage all aspects of a property refurbishment, from start to finish, using our team of trusted contractors, or by working closely with yours.
We are happy to liaise with an architect and subcontractors such as electricians, plumbers and other specialists. This includes joinery firms who can create bespoke fitted furniture such as wardrobes and cabinetry.
Why hire a London interior designer to work with your preferred architect or builder?
At Cathy Phillips & Co. we encourage collaboration at the initial stages of a project as this will establish a unified, high quality overall design and exceptional results.
Bringing in an interior designer at the early stages of planning a renovation or building project ensures the space is planned to suit the client’s needs. For instance, this could include working with the architect to ensure there are strategically placed windows to let in light; or devising lighting plans that work with furniture layouts and room designs; and even specifying the most effective places for plug sockets.
We are used to working with architects and our ability to read and understand architectural plans is key to our success. A trained interior designer will work to the same scale and this will result in a strong, coherent design.
It’s also worth noting that a good interior designer can save you money. With access to specialist suppliers, we can often get large trade discounts on products and services and pass them on to the client.
